Capturing the impact of Mental Health UK

CLIENT: MENTAL HEALTH UK
PROJECT: BRAND IMPACT FILM

Mental Health UK approached us with a brief to create a central brand film and suite of supporting content that captures the impact of their work and the urgency of their mission: to tackle the root causes of poor mental health and help people live their best possible lives.

Together, we developed a hero film, individual case study films and a suite of photography, spotlighting real individuals supported by Mental Health UK’s UK-wide programmes. The stories unfold across home, school, and work, showing just how interconnected our mental wellbeing is throughout life’s journey.

We met Rosemarie, Kanye, and Graham, three people at different life stages who have experienced Mental Health UK’s support first-hand. Through unscripted interviews, we uncovered their past challenges, the help they received, and the tangible difference it’s made. The result is an emotive, honest and empathetic portrayal of what it means to reach out, and what happens when an organisation like Mental Health UK is there to listen.

To ground each film in the everyday, we captured additional footage of our participants engaging in activities that support their mental wellbeing, from Rosemarie’s love of painting, to Kanye’s time spent with friends at his youth centre and Graham’s cold-water ‘dooks’ in the Scottish sea.

The films are united by a clear message: mental health affects us all. But when someone needs support, Mental Health UK is there , wherever you are, and whoever you are.

The team at Mere Mortals were fantastic to work with from start to finish. They had great vision and adapted to changes with creative solutions, resulting in a video that we can proudly share to show the difference Mental Health UK makes in people's lives.
